What you will do

  • Build and tune the 3D view in three.js and react-three-fiber: merged meshes, instancing and picking.
  • Turn plan data into solid geometry: walls with openings, floors, stairs and roofs.
  • Keep frame times and memory within budget on ordinary laptops and phones, and measure before and after.
  • Work on the 2D plan geometry in pure TypeScript: snapping, room detection and polygon operations.
  • Write tests that pin the geometry down and benchmarks that catch regressions.

What you bring

  • Shipped real-time 3D in the browser with three.js or WebGL.
  • Solid computational geometry: polygons, triangulation and robust intersection.
  • Strong TypeScript and an eye for performance: draw calls, GPU memory and long tasks.
  • Comfortable with GPU and browser profilers.

Nice to have

  • WebGPU.
  • CAD, BIM or architectural visualisation.
  • Shaders and post-processing.
  • Web workers and WebAssembly.

About FloorGen

FloorGen is a free floor plan, 3D and drawings studio in the browser, with FloorGen AI in the editor and an MCP server so the AI apps people already use can edit the plan with them.
