Floor plan software for every kind of project
The same free editor serves a homeowner measuring a kitchen and an architect blocking out a fourplex, but they need different things from it. Pick the page that matches your work: each lists the jobs FloorGen does well for you, the templates to start from, and what it does not do.

What everyone gets
Whichever page you came from, the editor is the same, and none of it is behind a paywall:
- Free, with no sign-up to start and no card. Plans save in your browser; signing in with Google adds cloud sync.
- Real dimensions. Feet and inches to 1/16 in, or metric to 1 mm, with room areas that update as you draw.
- About 3,000 furniture and fixture models in 14 categories, from sofas and kitchen cabinets to cars and garage shelving.
- 3D as you draw: orbit, dollhouse and walk modes, and MP4 walkthrough videos with captions.
- Drawings and exports: elevations, sections, print sets up to ARCH D or A1, PNG, PDF, SVG, DXF, glTF, CSV and a view-only HTML file.
- Tracing: import an image or PDF of an existing plan, set its scale from two points, and accept the walls it suggests.
- Code profiles for the US (IRC), Canada (NBC), Ontario (OBC), the UK, Germany (DIN) and Mexico City, as a design aid.

What FloorGen is not
It is a browser floor plan editor, not a BIM package, a rendering engine or a team platform. There is no DWG or IFC export, no photoreal rendering, no hosted share link and no real-time multi-user editing. It does not stamp, approve or certify anything. Each audience page says which of those gaps matter for that kind of work, and the comparisons say which other tools fill them.
Questions
Is there a professional plan?
No. Everyone uses the same free editor with the same exports. Signing in adds cloud sync and the in-app AI chat.
Can I use it for paid work?
The terms say you own the plans you make and may use what you draw with the built-in library in your own plans and exports.
Which devices does it run on?
Any recent browser on a computer, tablet or phone, including Chromebooks. There is nothing to install.
