Export formats

Updated 3 min readWorks without an account

Most exports come from Export in the top bar, in up to six tabs, and need a free account by default. A few come from the view that makes them, with no account needed: sections, elevations, videos, schedules and the backup of every project.

From the Export dialog

The tabs of the Export dialog. A tab switched off for everyone is hidden.

Print set scales

Auto picks the largest standard scale that fits the paper. The fixed scales are 1:50, 1:100 and 1:200 in metric, and 1/4″, 1/8″ and 1/16″ = 1′-0″ in feet and inches. A floor that doesn’t fit at a fixed scale is printed at Auto instead, with a warning. See Export a print set.

Questions

Which format should I send to a contractor?

A print set PDF for printing, or a view-only page they can open on a phone. Send DXF if they work in CAD.

Do exports have a watermark?

Paid plans export without a watermark. On the free plan, exports may carry a FloorGen watermark, usually a small badge. A line under the export options says when an export carries it: in the Export dialog, by the elevation and section downloads, and in the Record step of the walkthrough video. A tour recorded from the 3D view’s saved views has no line of its own and carries the walkthrough video’s mark.

Which floors does an export include?

The 2D plan shows the open floor. SVG, DXF and the print set can cover this floor or every floor. glTF and the view-only page include every floor.
