What is FloorGen
Updated 2 min readWorks without an account
FloorGen is a free floor plan editor that runs in your browser. You draw walls and rooms in 2D, furnish them from a large library, see every change in 3D, check the plan against building rules and export drawings, with nothing to install.
What you can do
- Draw the plan. Drag rooms or draw walls corner to corner, add doors, windows, stairs, lifts, balconies and railings, and measure or annotate anything. See Draw a room.
- Furnish it. The library has more than 3,000 pieces in 14 categories, from sofas and kitchen runs to outlets and trees. See The furniture library.
- See it in 3D. Orbit round the house, cut it open as a dollhouse, or walk through it at eye height. See The 3D view.
- Check it. The Review panel lists problems by room, such as small rooms, stairs, ceiling heights, escape windows, door swings and tight clearances, using the building code of your region where FloorGen has one. See The Review panel.
- Hand it over. Export a 2D plan, a 3D image, a PDF print set, CAD and 3D files or a view-only page, share the project, and edit together. See Export overview.
- Get help from AI. FloorGen AI can draw and change the plan from a chat, and AI apps such as Claude or ChatGPT can edit your plans through agent access. See What FloorGen AI can do.
Built for real projects
Each project is set up for the region it is built in: the units, currency, paper sizes, wall build-ups, door and window sizes and building code profile. A project can hold several floors, a basement and a terrace, and each floor can have several designs to compare.
