Got a seat from your institute

Updated 2 min readNeeds a free account

A college, school or programme can buy FloorGen seats for its students. A seat puts your account on a paid plan, paid for by your institute, until the end of its term.

Get your seat

  1. Step 1: Open the email

Your institute gives the seat to your email address, and FloorGen emails you about it. The email names the institute, the plan and the date the seat runs until.

  2. Step 2: Sign up or sign in with that address

With no account yet, click Create my account and sign up with the same address. With an account, sign in. The seat is applied once FloorGen knows the address is yours: after the code we email you, a Google sign-in with that address, or a password reset.

  3. Step 3: Check My plan

On the projects page, open My plan. Under the plan name it says which seat you have, from which institute, and until when.

Subscribing while you have a seat

The pricing page shows your seat’s plan as Current · seat. Subscribing to a plan yourself ends the seat, and your institute can give it to someone else, so the page and the upgrade window say so before any checkout.

When the seat ends

  • FloorGen emails you 30 days and 7 days before the end of the term, unless your institute’s subscription renews.
  • When the seat ends, your account goes back to the plan you had before it, if that one still runs, or to Free. Your projects stay; nothing you drew is deleted.
  • At the end of a term, the email may carry a discount code from your institute’s offer to keep a paid plan.
  • Your institute can also end a seat early. FloorGen emails you when it does.

Questions

I signed up but My plan shows Free.

The seat is given to one address. Check that you signed up with the address the email went to, and that you confirmed it with the code we emailed you. Then sign in again.

Can I keep the seat after I graduate?

No. The seat ends with your institute’s term. You can subscribe to a plan yourself, with the discount code from the email if it has one.
